Three people were charged with a number of offences including theft at a special sitting of Carrick on Shannon District Court; all aged between 14 and 15.
Last Thursday the 27th, Gardaí were called to a phone shop in Carrick on Shannon after two mobile phones were stolen from the business.
Minutes after this, a car stole diesel from a nearby petrol station and Gardaí gave chase, intercepting the car near Dromod Co. Leitrim on the N4 at around 3pm.
Searching the vehicle also revealed a number of stolen number plates and all three minors were charged and brought before the court.
One of them was bailed with very strict conditions while the other two were remanded in custody.
