Ballinafad Post Office is closing it’s doors for the final time on Monday.
The Post Office/Shop has been in operation for the last 70 years by the Carty family, but that is coming to an end on Monday as Postmistress Eileen Carty is retiring.
As part of An Post’s ‘Consolidation Programme’, 14 Post Offices in rural areas will close tomorrow with a further 11 on January 19th and by the end of the month, 154 will be closed.
The full list of closures is available on anpost.ie where it states 17 are to close in Donegal, 4 in Leitrim and 6 in Sligo
