Over €71,000 has in funding has been awarded for the expansion of a bakery in Leitrim.
McNiffe’s Bakery located in Drumshanbo received the funding under the LEADER Food Initiative.
It will go towards the provision of processing equipment and storage to support the expansion of the business which is owned by Micheal and Detta Mc Niffe.
The company was established in the 1980s and supplies boxty products to the Irish, UK and American markets.
The programme will provide up to €15m over the next two years to support the further development of food and drink businesses throughout rural Ireland.
