A Sligo councillor says many elderly people are now being left with no home care support at weekends and bank holidays.
Fianna Fail Councillor Seamus Kilgannon says this is often after these people having got only the minimum of support during the week.
He will call on Sligo County Council at a meeting this morning to write to Health Minister and the HSE over what he says is the ‘grossly inadequate funding’ for home care support.
He says providing this funding would save money in the long run:
