St Mary’s overturned a four-point half-time deficit to be beat Shamrock Gaels by a point in Saturday night’s entertaining county under 21 A football championship final at Tourlestrane.
Nathan Rooney’s injury-time point proved to be the matchwinning score.
Shamrock Gaels looked have control of this final after opening up a four-point lead by half-time, to lead by 1-8 to 0-7.
But St Mary’s produced a storming second-half performance, outscoring their opponents by 1-8 to to 0-6 in the second half-hour.
