New visitor centre opens at Ireland West Airport, Knock

A new visitor welcome centre backed by seven local authorities in the region was officially opened at Ireland West Airport at Knock this morning.

Minister for Rural and Community Development Michael Ring performed the opening, as well as launching a new Ryanair service from Knock to Cologne, Germany.

The new visitor discovery centre promotes the region to those arriving at the airport.

And, as Sligo Independent Councillor Marie Casserly told Ocean FM’s Niall Delaney at a busy Ireland West Airport this morning, it’s an ideal opportunity to highlight various attractions, including the Sligo Food Trail.
