Almost 20 years of problems for a community on the Sligo/Leitrim border with its water supply is at last expected to be coming to an end.
About 30 houses in the Fivemilebourne area were being supplied with water that was dirty, brown in colour, undrinkable and not suitable for many household and personal uses
However, work on replacing old cast-iron piping started this week.
Sligo Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy says the work will take about a month.
