Issue with telephone poles highlighted by situation in Ballintogher



Councillors throughout the region have for some time been complaining about problems caused by the location of telephone poles where roadworks have taken place or are planned.

Now, it’s emerged long awaited works in a Sligo village are being held up because of the presence of one such pole.

Work on the new safety measures as well as a footpath at a primary school in Ballintogher had been going on until last Friday.

But, as local Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy tells Ocean FM News, the contractor had to leave the site because of the location of an Eir pole.
