A supporter of John Perry has claimed he’s been the victim of character assassination and that his attempts to resolve the row over the removal of breast cancer services from Sligo Hospital has unfairly damaged his political career. Fine Gael have informed the former Minister Perry that he would not be added as a candidate for the next general election in Sligo-Leitrim – but the debate turned heated, when local cancer campaigners were branded ‘vultures’
