A North Leitrim Councillor says voluntary groups should not have to apply for funding for footpaths and lighting.
Fianna Fail Councillor Mary Bohan says this was always the responsibility of the council but now she is now shocked to see voluntary groups having to apply for funding for basic public safety measures
Cllr Bohan is calling on the Government to provide special funding to Leitrim County Council to ensure public safety is to the fore.
