Residents in the Maugherow area of north Sligo are hoping to get a reply from the Communications Minister before the end of this week about the closure of their local post office in Ballinfull.
They want Denis Naughten to examine how the decision was made as well as how a submission with their argument for keeping the post office open was dealt with.
If they are not satisfied with the minister’s response, they say they will consider seeking a judicial review of the entire process.
The residents also say they now have no confidence in An Post to oversee an independent review of the situation.
Last night, residents in Maugherow held another public meeting on the issue.
