Leitrim says there can be no further delays to rural broadband for Drumkeerin



The issue of broadband remains a huge problem for many rural villages like Drumkeerin in county Leitrim.

The village is welcoming the allocation of over $43,000 to renovate three enterprise units in the town as part of the Rural Town and Village enhancement scheme.

But Fianna Fail Councillor Mary Bohan says that it’s no good unless the promised broadband is brought to Leitrim.

She told Ocean FM News today, that Drumkeerin has already lost start-up businesses to towns like Carrick-on-Shannon because of the poor broadband connection:
