Trolley figures remain high across the North West today



For two days in a row, Letterkenny University Hospital is the 2nd most overcorwded Hospital in the country.

There are 39 people waiting for a bed today compared to 43 yesterday.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, there were almost 8,000 patients waiting on trolleys or chairs in September.

Since 2014, waiting figures have risen and in the whole of 2017, there were 459 people waiting for a bed in Letterkenny University Hospital while this year it has already surpassed that number, currently sitting at 502.

There are also 24 people waiting for a bed in Sligo university Hospital today, up from 17 yesterday.
