Dunkineely waiting for news on future of its post office services



The people of Dunkineely in south Donegal are hoping to receive word from An Post in the coming days about the future of post office services in their area.

The post office in the village closed last Friday.

But local campaigners in Dunkineely are hoping a submission they have made to An Post will result in the local services being retained.

However, there is growing concern about the future of services in areas where post offices have already closed.

That’s after the people of Maugherow in north Sligo were told this week that they were unsuccessful in their campaign.

However, local residents in Dunkineely are hoping for a better outcome.

But already, they are unhappy with An Post for not acknowledging receipt of their submission until they contacted the company:
