ICOS says rural depopulation and lack of services are among the issues the government has to address



Rural depopulation, lack of infrastructure and the new CAP are among the main points that one rural group will be highlighting at a Leinster House briefing tomorrow.

ICOS or the Irish Co-operative Organisation Society will outline the points they think should be addressed to reduce costs and support businesses which include the family farm.

They will be speaking tomorrow morning as part of the Joint Committee on Rural and Community Development where the committee wants to hear from rural stakeholders to identify new ways to sustain and grow business.

Secretary of the Rural Business Committee of ICOS Darragh Walshe spoke to Claire Mulcahy earlier and outlined the main points they’ll be making at this meeting tomorrow:
