Leitrim councillor calls for action on dangerous roadside trees, hedges

A Leitrim councillor is warning of the dangers on many of the region’s roads following yesterday’s storm that hit the North West.

Manorhamilton-based Independent Councillor Felim Gurn says overgrown hedges and overhanging trees on primary and secondary roads are now a real danger, particularly with more storms likely over the coming winter.

Councillor Gurn is calling for a National Fund to be established to help deal with situation and prevent possible fatalities.
