A 35-year old man has died after he got into difficulty yesterday along the West Sligo shoreline near Dunmoran Strand.
It’s believed the deceased was from Poland and had been fishing along the coastline in the Templepatrick area.
The Coast Guard was alerted about 2:30 yesterday afternoon.
Its helicopter based at Sligo Airport at Strandhill immediately flew to the area from where the man was airlifted and taken to Sligo University Hospital.
