IFA: Small country towns not equipped to deal with post office closures



The head of the IFA in Sligo says people in rural towns don’t have the services to be able to survive without their local post office.

The IFA is one of a number of rural groups that will speak at a major rally against the closure of 21 post offices in this region on Saturday.

JP Cowley will be one of the speakers at the event.

His own local post office in Easkey was under threat earlier this year.

He says rural communities are simply not ready to survive without this vital service:
