Ahead of his appearance at this weekend’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Open at Donegal’s Ballyliffin Golf Club, Finland’s Mikko Ilonen played a round at Enniscrone Golf Club earlier this week.
He was there to play as part of the club’s centenary year celebrations, having won the West of Ireland Amateur Golf Championship at Enniscrone in 1999.
His win is fondly remembered by all club members, and after his round – a two-under-par 71 – he was presented with honorary life membership.
