Gardai have recovered a substantial quantity of stolen phone cable in Sligo and Leitrim.
There had been a spate of thefts of the copper wiring in parts of the Northwest over the last month.
Over 20,000 euro worth of the wire had been stolen, and this resulted in hundreds being left without a phone line.
