Seamus O’Domhnaill elected Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council

Councillor Seamus O’Domhnaill has been elected the new Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council.

When the Annual General Meeting finally got underway in Lifford yesterday afternoon, the Fianna Fail Councillor was proposed by his party colleague Cllr Ciaran Brogan and seconded by Cllr Enda Bonner (FF).

His wife Maura and brother Senator Briain O’Domhnaill were among his family members there.

The new Cathaoirleach said it was a great honour to be elected to the position and he remembered the late Fianna Fail Cllr Sean McEniff in his speech.

Fine Gael Cllr Martin Harley was elected leas-Cathaoirleach.
