Gardaí have identified the body of a man recovered at Coney Island to be missing Sligo man Michael McGowan.
Mr McGowan was reported missing on the 30th December, 2017 from his home in Sligo.
The body was removed after being found by a passer-by last weekend.
Following the discovery, DNA samples were sent away for testing and a post mortem was carried out on the body on Monday.
A file is now to be prepared for the coroner
