Irish Water’s business customers in counties Leitrim and Cavan are to get new meters that can be read using drive-by technology.
This will allow for faster and more frequent readings which, Irish Water says, will result in fewer estimated bills as well as help with identifying leaks.
A similar installation of new meters is ongoing in Donegal and Sligo.
There is no charge for the new meters but water supply will be shut off for about 15 minutes while they are being replaced.
