Leitrim face Mayo in Connacht junior semi-final this evening

Holders Leitrim begin their defence of the Connacht Junior Championship title tonight.

They face Mayo in Carrick-on-Shannon at 7pm.

Mayo beat Roscommon in a dramatic quarter-final last week, and as Sligo have opted out of this year’s competition, tonight’s winners will face Galway in Sunday’s junior decider.

That final will take place before the Galway versus Mayo Connacht Senior Championship quarter-final at Castlebar’s MacHale Park.

If Leitrim win tonight, it will mean changes to the weekend’s club fixtures within the county as the junior side prepare for a provincial final.

The Leitrim side will be managed by senior selector Seamus Quinn.
