Forty on trolleys in Sligo and Letterkenny

There are forty people on trolleys at hospitals in the North West today.

23 of these patients are waiting on trolleys at Sligo University Hospital while 17 are waiting on the corridors and in wards in Letterkenny.

The figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show that The nationwide figure is 449.

The INMO says it’s an increase of 40% on the same day last year when there were 320 patients on trolleys.

The Regional Hospitals in Tullamore and Waterford are the worst affected hospitals today.
