Sligo farmer fears it could be May before all animals back out on land



A Sligo farmer says it could be May before farmers are able to put their animals back out on the land.

Farmers in the North West are hoping that fodder will be making its way to Co-ops in this region this week.

Farming organisations have also been calling for smaller feed merchants to be able to distribute the fodder.

Chairperson of the IFA in Sligo Jp Cowley farms in Rathlee in the west of the county he says he’s never experience a year of such bad weather.

He says it could still be weeks before we see any growth and get animals back out:
