Sligo latest town to have ‘I Believe Her’ campaign demonstration

Sligo became the latest town to include itself in the national ‘I Believe Her’ campaign last evening.
A group of people demonstrated outide City Hall, frustrated at the outcome of the Belfast rugby rape trial and at the manner in which rape cases are dealt with in court.
Participants expressed their disgust at the way women were referred to in phone messages between the accused, which emerged in evidence, even though all four were found not guilty.
The organiser of the demonstration, Marie Pugh, said such messages were vile.
