Pre-paid parking needed for long-term hospital patients



There are renewed calls for free parking for seriously ill patients at all hospitals.

Letterkenny University Hospital is one of those that has free parking for some patients who are very ill but not all hospitals waive the charges completely.

In Sligo, there is a special weekly rate for example for cancer patients and the rate which was not always widely known is now advertised on the signs at the carpark.

Minister for Health Simon Harris recently called for a review into the charges at all hospital car parks.
