Half of social housing offered in Sligo last year turned down



Half of the houses offered to people on the social housing list in Sligo last year were turned down.

The Council has released the figures following a query this week by People Before Profit Councillor Gino O’Boyle.

Of the 303 houses allocated 151 were turned down for a number of reasons but one appears to be that they are not in the best location for people.

There are over 1100 people on the waiting list in Sligo.
