Fr Pat Lombard, parish priest of St Anne’s in Sligo, has encouraged people to avoid going to the pub on this Good Friday, as part of a Lenten sacrifice. While not opposed to the decision to change the legislation allowing pubs to open, Fr Lombard suggests those who broke their Lenten promises could atone by not going to the pub on that day
