Calls for Education Minister to intervene on lack of autism places



Families of autistic children at a pre-school level in Sligo fear their children will not have a school place come September.

A public meeting was held on the matter in Sligo town earlier this week.

The shortage of HSE staff to assess children has made the problem worse.

Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy says his colleague Deputy Martin Kenny hopes to bring the issue to the attention of the Education Minister this week.
