The funeral of Jimmy Loughlin from Kilross in county Sligo who died in tragic circumstances at the weekend is to take place this afternoon.
A 31 year old Sligo man appeared in court on Monday charged with his murder.
Described as a ‘fun-loving’ young man, 20 year-old Jimmy Loughlin will be laid to rest in Sooey cemetery today following his funeral mass in St. Therese’s Church in Ballintogher.
Parish Priest Vinny Connaughton will preside over the mass.
Fr. Connaughton says the community in Kilross and the wider area is still coming to terms with this loss.
Jimmy is survived by his parents Michael and Paula, his sisters Grace, Rose and Kitty as well as both sets of grandparents.
Investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding his death and a man appeared in court on Monday charged with his murder.
