Weather: Roads, streets, footpaths in dangerous condition this morning

Many roads, streets and footpaths are in a dangerous condition this morning after a night of below zero temperatures.

Gardai throughout the region say roads are slippery, particularly minor roads that are not gritted.

In some areas snow fell earlier in the night, with temperatures dropping to minus two or three, freezing already fallen hailstones and slush.

The wintery weather is set to continue: a Status Yellow weather advisory warning of wet and windy weather is in force until 6 o’clock tomorrow, Tuesday, morning.

It warns of gusts of between 90 to 110 kilometres per hour with more snow, mainly in north Connacht and west Ulster.
