‘Boil water’ notice means higher costs for businesses in south, west Sligo

The owner of a creche in Ballymote has hit out at Irish Water after a boil water notice was issued for South and West Sligo.

About 13,000 people and dozens of businesses across the county have been effected.

Water used for drinking, preparing food that is not cooked, brushing teeth and making ice must be boiled.

Claire Barden, who owns the Learn Early Montessori Academy and Creche in Ballymote, says she doesn’t know why she has to pay rates to Irish Water.
