The HSE has confirmed that the the Alzheimer’s Unit at St John’s Hospital will be closed in March and that affected patients are in the process of being transferred to other facilities. Deputy Marc MacSharry has condemned the move as flawed, and says one family have had a relative resident in the unit for the past 20 years
