Girls underage football resumption will be notified to the relevant age groups in due course.

Ladies

Well done to Aine Hill, Caoimhe Hughes O’Brien and Lucy McGlynn who played for the Donegal under 14s against Derry on Sunday with Aoibhínn McGarrigle and Katie O’Brien also part of the panel.

Under 12 girls training will be resuming indoors in February. If anyone is around to give a hand for an hour for the first few weeks so we can get it up on running as soon as possible contact Karol Foley on 086 8780164. Karol knows the girls are eager to get back together after the winter break and prepare for the 2018 Season. She  would appreciate if parents / guardians of under 12s [2006 and 2007] could send her a text with their names and name of their daughter to set up a WhatsApp Group for team communications about training, matches and so on.

Hurling

Aodh Ruadh Juvenile Hurling Committee have had a great response to their Last One Standing competition sponsored by Mr G’s. Some 350 entrants started out in the competition, a number of shock results including defeats for Cork and Tyrone and a couple of draws saw the field whittled down to 199 as we head to week two.

We are still looking for help with our underage teams especially our under 8s. Training begins on Sunday, 4th March and anyone interested in getting involved is asked to contact John Rooney on 086-2587793.

Registration 2018

Club membership for 2018 is now due and all club members are asked to submit their registration form and fee at their earliest convenience. Membership can be paid to Gerry Ferguson at Ferguson’s Jewellers. Players can also download registration forms from aodhruadh.org and submit this along with the relevant fee directly to their manager. Registration sessions will be organised for teams over the coming weeks and it is essential all players are signed up club members. We will also be having a number of open registration sessions over coming weeks to facilitate members in the wider community.

National Draw 2018

The deadline for sales of National Club Draw tickets is now overdue. Those with outstanding returns are asked to make them to Lisa McTernan or Gerard Ferguson by this Friday at the latest.

Abbey Centre Bingo

The January Big Bingo was held last Friday night. Under the increased prize format, the €1,000 jackpot went to Susan Cassidy of Belleek, whilst Margaret McCaffrey took the stand up game prize in the amount of €165. There was no claim on the winter snowball so it rises to €350 on 47 numbers or less. We look forward to normal bingo this Friday at 9pm at the Abbey Centre with a €2,050 prize fund, books priced just €10.
