County Sligo Swimming Club Notes

County Sligo Swimming Club hosted the first meet of the 2018 South West Minor League last Saturday at Sligo Regional Sports Complex. The Sligo swim team challenged Strule Dolphins Swim Club from Omagh and amidst some highly contested swims, particularly in the older age groups, Sligo came out victorious. The final score tally was Sligo 557 points, Strule Dolphins 437 points. Sligo will now meet East Cavan Swim Club in February and Blue Marlins, Ballyshannon in March. Sligo is attempting to retain its title as NWML Champions, achieved in 2017.
County Sligo Swim Club’s senior swimmers were competing with success in Limerick at the weekend at the first long course (50m pool) meet of the season, the Gerry Ryan Memorial Cup. Congratulations poured in for Sligo’s double gold winner Danielle Farrell (pictured above) who achieved first place in both the woman’s 400m and 800m freestyle. “I’m very proud of our team!” Commented Head Coach Eduardo Santos.
