Sligo mother says parents can’t get through to service for children with special needs



A Sligo mother says the lack of support for children with special needs in the region remains a concern.

Fiona Gallagher, is with the ‘Our Voice Their Future’ campaign in Sligo which has also brought issues such as the long waiting times for accessing the Child Adolescent and Mental Health Services to the fore.

It resulted in the appointment of three new psychologists this month.

While she welcomes this news, she says the service for children with special needs on the Mailcoach road is also under pressure.

She says parents simply can’t get through as there is noone to answer the phones:
