CEO of Sligo Chamber says any cut to horse racing funding would damage Northwest hospitality sector



The CEO of Sligo Chamber says the hospitality sector would suffer massively if the Government were to pull funding for horse racing.

The government pumps 80 million euro of public funding into the racing industry each year.

But local Sinn Fein TD, Martin Kenny has called on the government to pull the funding for horse and greyhound racing.

Thousands attend the Sligo races every summer, and the CEO of Sligo Chamber, Aidan Doyle, says the racecourse here would struggle to survive without government funding…..
