A Leitrim councillor says many people, including parents, are unaware of the shocking dangers to children online.
Fianna Fail Councillor Mary Bohan was speaking after a presentation yesterday to the Leitrim Joint Policing Committee on child internet safety by Detective Sergeant Michael Smyth of the Garda National Protective Services Bureau.
The meeting heard of efforts to get children to share images of themselves and about then being bullied or blackmailed about the images being distributed.
