IFA President in Leitrim to assess impact of fodder shortage



The President of the Irish Farmers Association Joe Healy has been in county Leitrim today to see first hand how the weather and fodder crisis is impacting farmers.

A number of farming organisations are now increasing pressure on the Agriculture Minister Michael Creed to recognise the hardship of farmers in the North West.

Both the IFA and the INHFA are holding meetings on this issue this coming Friday.

The INHFA is meeting in the Sligo Southern Hotel while the IFA are holding their meeting at the McWilliam Hotel in Claremorris.

Speaking to Ocean FM News on his way to the Young Farmer of the Future Awards in Claremorris this evening, Joe Healy outlined what he heard from farmers in county Leitrim today:
