The Minister of State for Higher Education Mary Mitchell O Connor is expected in Sligo this afternoon to officially open the newly refurbished School of Business and Social Sciences at IT Sligo.
The building will be named after Constance Markievicz.
The €7m refurbishment of the 4,400 square metre building was completed in October and has 16 rooms for classes and lecture theatres.
It also has offices for 72 staff as well as a cafe.
The opening ceremony will get underway at 2pm.
