Rovers ready to celebrate with annual awards night



The annual Sligo Rovers gala awards night takes place in the Clayton Hotel this evening.

A number of award winners will be revealed on the night, with Rhys McCabe and Seamus Sharkey nominated alongside Donegal native Kyle Callan-McFadden for the senior player of the year award.

He says it took him a while to settle into the team…

The young player of the year nominees are Regan Donelon, Gary Boylan and Shaun Patton.

The nominees for the U19 Player of the Year award are Shay Doherty, Mikey O’Brien and Ed McGinty.

Mark Byrne, Liam Kerrigan, Niall Morahan are nominated for the U17 award.

And the U15 nominees are Cillian Heaney, Oran Groake and Callum Levelle.

Also this evening, Rovers legend Joseph Ndo will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, while Tony Quinn will be presented with the Spirit of Sligo Rovers award.

Rovers manager Gerard Lyttle admits it was a season of ups and downs…
