HSE confirms three vacant psychology posts at CAMHS

The HSE says that three psychology posts still need to be filled at the CAMHS service.

This Child and Adolescent Mental Service in Sligo Leitrim has been struggling to clear waiting lists where some young people have been waiting almost two years to be seen.

It’s led to a strong camapaign by parents in this region this year.

But the HSE has confirmed to Ocean FM News that as of this month it has managed to clear the list of those waiting over a year to be seen after it put more psychiatric support in place in July.

But there’s still some way to go before the service can operate at its best.

The HSE says it needs three more psychologists and it is currently in the process of working with the National Recruitment Service to approve and fill these posts.
