Votes in Donegal Town mayoral election will be counted tonight

The new mayor of Donegal Town will be known tonight.

But the actual inauguration ceremony will not take place until a later date.

Voting for mayor of Donegal Town is continuing today at the John Bosco Centre until 7pm.

There are two candidates in the race, Vincent Callaghan and Pauric Kennedy.

Ernan McGettigan is vice Chairman of Donegal Community Chamber, which organises the election.
