Farmers have until Saturday the 14th of October to apply for slurry extension

Farmers wishing to avail of the recently announced extension for slurry spreading must apply by Saturday, the 14th of october.

The news has been welcomed by many organisation and TD’s, however concern is being raised over the criteria.

The main concern is farmers who apply for the extension will be prioritised for inspection.

Independent TD, Michael Fitzmaurice says that it is a ‘threat’ to farmers.

While Sligo/Leitrim TD Eamon Scanlon agrees, he says getting the slurry out is also important
