Case made for cardiac cath lab in Sligo



A business case to set up a fixed cardiac Catherisation Lab at Sligo has been submitted.

The most recent update was given to Sligo Councillor Rosaleen O’Grady at the most recent HSE West Forum meeting.

The Fianna Fail Councillor says a business case to set up four fixed labs – three in Galway and one in Sligo – is progressing.

While no timeframe is yet in place, Councillor O’Grady says as soon as funding is approved,  which she hopes might happen in next week’s budget, the project in Sligo can go ahead.

She says the business plan which has been submitted to the National Acute Hospitals office is a key supporting document:
