Donegal Fire Service is hiring and are particularly interested in hearing from women

Donegal Fire Service is looking for new recruits — and they are particularly interested in hearing from women.

At present, Donegal Fire Service does not have any female staff.

Dermot Brady, senior assistant chief fire officer in Donegal says he thinks they need to make a special effort to highlight the importance of having more women in the service.

He says they are every bit as capable as any man in dealing with the physical and mental challenges that that come with the job.

He has been telling Ocean FM News why they would like to hear from women thinking of joining up, for what is a 24/7 role.
