Almost €70,000 in flood relief funding is being allocated for two Leitrim towns

Almost €70,000 in flood relief funding is being allocated for two North Leitrim towns to help prevent future flooding.

The announcement is timely as Donegal and Leitrim both recover from flooding overnight.

This round of funding will see Kinlough get €59,600 while Dromahair is to get over €8,000.

Sinn Fein TD for Sligo/Leitrim Martin Kenny said that he showed Minister of State for the OPW, Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran blackspot areas when he recently visited the area.

Speaking to OceanFM, Deputy Kenny said that the funding will help to clean rivers and streams and clear obstructions
