Maze escapee claims prominent Sligo businessmen provided safe houses for him



Dermot McNally was one of the 38 IRA prisoners who broke out of the Maze Prison in 1983, now the subject of new movie, ‘Maze’.  He reflects on how he was  prepared to murder a prison warden during the escape, and how he came to end up in Sligo, and was provided safe houses by prominent Sligo businessmen, and by local Fianna Fail and Fine Gael supporters
